Catnip (Nepeta cataria) is a plant that can drive cats crazy. Cats react to different scents, and it is known that about 70% of cats respond to catnip by running, rolling, licking, rubbing against objects, etc. The remaining 30% may not show interest, but that can only be discovered through trial and error. Those who don’t try will never know 🙂 Use the catnip to make toys more interesting. How? Put catnip in a jar with a toy. Keep the toy in it for a few hours, keeping the jar securely closed, of course, and then give it to the cat. This way, you can impart the scent of catnip to any object that interests the cat without leaving a trail of catnip. Of course, you can also simply sprinkle catnip on, for example, a cat’s scratching post and other places. In addition, toys are sold with either Velcro or a zipper so that catnip can be placed inside the toy, and when the scent is gone, a new catnip can be easily added without having to rush to buy a new toy.
