The product can last for years depending on the number of cats and the need for scratching! It provides a large scratching surface, and since it is an elevated area, cats often like to lie on it as well. Initially, it may take time for the cat to get used to the product. If your kitty doesn’t understand what’s going on (regardless of which scratching product it is), you can try putting a little Catnip spray on it and playing with the cat on the scratcher. This makes it much easier for the cat to understand what is going on.

PS: Scratching posts and scratchers are mostly designed to satisfy cats’ need to scratch and thereby improve their well-being, not just to sharpen their nails. If the cat has well-trimmed nails and a nice manicure, all these types of products will last much longer.
